Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla, has been issued a subpoena by the US Virgin Islands in a high-profile lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. involving the late Jeffrey Epstein.
The US territory alleges that JPMorgan knowingly benefited from Epstein’s illicit activities, and it suspects that Epstein may have referred or attempted to refer Musk to JPMorgan as a client. Notably, other billionaires like Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google have also received subpoenas.
While Musk’s attorney has remained silent on the matter, Elon himself took to Twitter, calling the accusations “idiotic” and denying any involvement with Epstein’s advice or JPMorgan.
Now, the US Virgin Islands is seeking alternative methods to serve the subpoena to Musk after facing challenges in locating his address. They have even requested permission to serve the subpoena to Tesla, Musk’s company.
The subpoena demands documents related to communications between Musk, JPMorgan, and Epstein, as well as any information regarding Epstein’s involvement in human trafficking or fees paid by Musk to Epstein or JPMorgan.
